Exterior “Stone” Cleaning and Repair

During 2022-2023 we spent over 5000 hours on cleaning and repairing masonry joints on our 1920s “limecrete” (cast stone) exterior.

AFTER

As early as the 1940s the exterior had been painted, and this caused water to hold against the building and create spalling. After extensive research Alissa decided to manage and execute this cleaning herself. The maintenance of cast stone is largely lost in modern contracting, and after consulting with many firms executing it herself as a preservation specialist was the best path forward. Alissa, Eric, Connie, and Ken spent over 5000 hours on this project.
